halloween house decorating contest

Let's see Batavia's scary and frightening house decorations in our popular Halloween House Decorating Contest. We will be awarding prizes for overall theme and people's choice. All displays will be judged on Wednesday, October 21 from 5:00-9:00 pm. Winners will receive a Batavia Park District prize package. This contest is for Batavia Park District residents only. Addresses of all entries will be published in local media unless specified otherwise at the time of registration. Please indicate if you want us to view your decorations at dusk or dark. Registration deadline is October 19. See a list of participating houses here on Thursday, October 22.

Trick or treat yourself

friday, october 30

You don't have to go far for Halloween treats. We'll bring them to your front yard! Surprise your family with a Halloween-inspired candy hunt right at home. Our Batavia Park District staff will personally deliver your Halloween treats and distribute them in your front yard for your family to find in the afternoon on Friday, October 30. Once we're gone, just say 'go' and do the trick-or-treater dash for those Halloween goodies. The fee is $15 for one drop-off per household which includes assorted candy and snacks inside plastic pumpkins. Registration deadline is Friday, October 23 and only open to Batavia Park District residents. You only need to register one member of your household.

Celebration of Lights Virtual Viewing

Sunday, november 29 at 5:00 pm
Keep the family tradition of attending Celebration of Lights by viewing the tree lighting ceremony virtually on Batavia Access Television (BATV). Watch from the comfort of your home as the Riverwalk lights up for the first time this holiday season with a message from Mayor Schielke, a 'visit' from Santa Claus, highlights of Christmas Tree Lane presented by Northwestern Medicine's All of Us Research Program, and a message from some special Batavia guests!

snapshots with santa

saturday, december 5, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Schedule your visit with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. Enjoy a socially-distant visit and photo with Santa at the Batavia Depot Museum caboose. Each family will receive a photo and an ornament. Dress for the weather! Additional photos will be available for download through the Batavia Park District website. Families must register for a time slot and can arrive at any time within the time slot. Cost per family is $25.

online holiday house decorating contest

Show off your holiday spirit and enter Batavia's Online Holiday House Decorating Contest. All participants will submit a photo of their house, and all displays will be judged by online voting through our Facebook page starting Monday, December 14 through noon on Friday, December 18. The winner of the People's Choice award will receive a Batavia Park District prize package. This contest is only for Batavia Park District residents.
