It's time to become a healthier, happier you! Our qualified fitness instructors are passionate about helping participants reach their weight loss or fitness goals. We offer a wide variety of classes to help you stay active and healthy.
Indoor, outdoor, and Zoom fitness classes are all offered this Fall. Social distancing will be practiced by limiting the number of participants per class. Participants are asked to bring their own equipment, water bottle, towel, and hand sanitizer.

Flow yoga combines the ancient practice of Hatha/Vini yoga, along with breathing to flow from pose to pose. See improvement in strength, flexibility, balance, and mental clarity. A working knowledge of yoga is suggested. Please bring a towel and mat.

Relax & Renew Yoga
Relieve the effects of chronic stress by practicing restful poses to soothe and regenerate the mind and body. Go home feeling calm and relaxed. Yoga experience is not necessary. This class benefits all levels.
Gentle Yoga (Chair Optional)
If you are looking for a slower paced atmosphere with safety and comfort in mind, you will find it here! Yoga is a form of movement that adapts to your needs and abilities. This class is suitable for the less athletic who desire to be stronger, fitter, have more flexibility and balance. Learn to breathe correctly and make the mind calmer, increase mindfulness, and pave the way to a positive approach to life. Each stage of life should be celebrated! Walk-ins are welcome at $5 per class per visit.
Yoga for Bone Health
Osteoporosis is a serious disease, which can lead to bone fractures, due to low bone density. Learn to do yoga safely through "evidence based" science. Strengthen bones without endangering joints. A must for people with low bone density. Learn how to be safe during yoga practice even if you do not have osteoporosis.

Saturday Ease Yoga
Ease into your Saturday morning with this gentle yoga class. Treat your body and reduce stress.
This morning class is exclusively a toning class. It includes floor exercises to strengthen and tone legs, abdominals, hips and arms. This workout can be enjoyed by anyone who wants to isolate and tone individual muscle groups.
Uniquely mixes Pilates and basic boxing moves into a calorie-burning, muscle toning, core-centric interval workout that's both fun and challenging. Piloxing also incorporates barefoot training as the preferred (but not mandatory) option to enhance movements with focus, awareness and control. Feel strong and balanced while having fun and burning calories.
Tone by using the body's resistance and light weights while moving slowly through yoga poses. No yoga mats required. Please wear gym shoes. Get ready for a fun class!
Shape and Tone
All ages and fitness levels will benefit from this 45-minute body shaping class. The workout will emphasize toning all the major muscle groups of the upper body, lower body and abdominals. Kettle balls, resisti-balls, body bars, medicine balls, tubing and hand weights will be used to achieve a strong, healthy look. Studies have shown that resistance work gets your metabolism up and keeps it up for a number of hours after the workout is over. Join us and have fun while "revving" up your metabolism and shaping your muscles.
This class includes ballet barre type movements and is a low impact workout that will tone your entire body. This barre routine will use chairs, body bars and more to help you feel aligned and defined. You are going to enjoy this class!

Work your lower body in this class designed to strengthen the core and firm up the lower body.
If you are looking for cardio, look elsewhere! Use your own body weight with TRX suspension to push your strength to stronger levels. This class is not a beginner TRX level class. TRX cannot be used as a make-up class for other classes. Sorry, no walk-ins for TRX. Space is limited.

Here at Batavia, our classes are judgment-free and noncompetitive. It's all about helping the individual improve both their mental & physical health, whether it's through fitness classes or yoga classes. All are beneficial to our minds & bodies. That's why I LOVE being part of the team!
I am nationally certified in fitness & water fitness have my 500-hour yoga certification through NACYT. I completed the Therapeutic Yoga for Seniors Professional Training at the Duke Center for Integrative medicine. My specialty is yoga for baby boomers & up. We are proud of the years of experience & continued furthering of our education, shown by all of our seasoned fitness instructors.
I've been doing fitness classes for almost 18 years & teach weights/resistance training including TRX & cardio/boot camp/interval training. I initially started coming to BPD with a friend when the Park District was introducing step aerobics. My friend dropped out & I kept coming because I enjoyed exercising. I saw a huge improvement in my stamina, sleep & stress levels, & it also gave me ``gobs'' of energy. I wanted everyone could feel the same way, so I became an instructor at the age of 50. It's such a pleasure to teach at BPD - both the instructors & patrons are wonderful to work with!
There's no place like home, that's the Batavia Park District for me! I was once a participant in a variety of classes and now I am teaching a variety of classes. I am certified in group fitness by NETA and I hold a certification in TRX Group Training, Piloxing, Kettle Bell, and Barre Group Fitness.
I'm glad to be an instrument in helping others achive their fitness goals.
A lifelong resident of Batavia,Dennis completed his 200 hour yoga training at Prairie Yoga. His kind, gentle manner shows in his teachings. He is also certified in teaching cycling classes.
Dennis was instrumental in organizing & building of the Riverwalk in Batavia. His love of this community and the positive energy he brings to his yoga classes shows in each class he teaches.
Dennis holds a summer outdoor yoga class on the Riverwalk in downtown Batavia- his work on the Batavia Riverwalk has come full circle!
