The Batavia Park District partners with Red Oak Nature Center in Batavia to bring you opportunities to participate in nature programming, such as nature-themed story time, cave hikes, special earth-friendly events and more!

Cave Hike 140001

Join us on a 1-mile, round-trip hike to see the only cave in the Chicagoland region! Along the way, we will stop to point out areas of interest and signs of the season. Learn what makes our cave so unique and even take a piece of geologic history home with you. Dress for the weatherthese hikes go snow or shine!

Bookworm Wednesdays 140002

Each monthly session will have participants listening to an exciting nature-themed story followed by a simple craft or short hike outside so dress for the weather. Each registered child will receive a plush reading buddy to take home at the end of each session. Adults must attend with their child, but do not need to register.
