200 Years: A historical Happy Birthday for Mary Todd Lincoln

Thu December 6, 2018

BATAVIA, IL – One of Batavia’s most famous residents is Mary Todd Lincoln, who was committed to Bellevue Place from May to September of 1875, just ten years after Abraham Lincoln’s assassination, is celebrating a milestone this year. Born on December 13, 1818, this year marks her 200th birthday!

Join the Depot Museum in wishing Mary Todd Lincoln a Happy Birthday on the day of her birth, December 13 from 6-8 pm at the Batavia Civic Center, located at 327 W. Wilson Street.

The Batavia Depot Museum is happy to present Donna Daniels as Mrs. Lincoln for the evening.  Mrs. Daniels has been bringing Mrs. Lincoln to life for audiences nation-wide since 1988.  Born and raised in Batavia, Mrs. Daniels is excited to bring Mary Lincoln to her hometown for such a momentous occasion!

The evening will begin with making hats in the style that the Lincolns wore, hear a bit of reminiscing from our guest of honor, and enjoy a piece of birthday cake. This is an all ages event and the fee is just $7. Please register through the Batavia Park District at 630-879-5235 or visit bataviaparks.org.
