FOX VALLEY SPECIAL RECREATION ASSOCIATION Honors its best at the Annual Recognition Banquet

Aurora, Illinois – September 16, 2019,  On September 13, 2019, the Fox Valley Special Recreation Association (FVSRA) honored its participants, athletes, staff, volunteers, and supporters at the 26th Annual Recognition Banquet.

This annual event is an opportunity for FVSRA to recognize all the individuals who support the organization and contribute to its success.  FVSRA honors the participants for their outstanding achievements, salute the staff and volunteers for their passion in working with individuals with disabilities, and acknowledge individuals, families and organizations for their continuous support.

This year 21 awards were given.

The following were Sports Award recipients: Female Athlete of the Year – Marietta Landwehr; Male Athlete of the Year – Dylan Dunlap; David Moisa Sportsmanship Award­ – Mackenzie Schweizer; 

Coach of the Year – Patrick Hastings

The following were Participant Award recipients:

Female Youth Participant of the Year – Lucy Sader; Male Youth Participant of the Year – Jordan Freese; Female Adult  Participant of the Year – Hannah Myles; Male Adult Participant of the Year – David Anderson

The following were Staff Award recipients:

Volunteer of the Year Kalethiea Jackson; Part-Time Staff of the Year – Nick Litow and Peggy Potilechio; Inclusion Supporter of the Year – Brooke Williams and Eric Cotter; Shining Star Award- Denise Quinn; Rising Star Award- Harlan Duffy; Mike Glower Sunshine Award- Linda McDonough

The following were Family and Community Supporters Award recipients:

Bob Stuart Friend of the Year – Lois Norberg of Advocate Health; Extra Mile Award – Mellissa Caine and Cayla Greenfield of St. Charles Sportsplex; Foundation Supporter of the Year- Shaw Media

The Dr. Bill Kelly Champion Award- The Kelly Family
