This news comes after outgoing Executive Director, Jamie Saam, announced in June that she would be stepping down to focus on her family business, Bulldog Plumbing Inc. and other personal endeavors.

“I’ll always be part of it as long as I’m here,” Saam said of Batavia MainStreet, “but I am looking forward to having Christopher step into the leadership role and make a great impact in our downtown community. “

Faber joins MainStreet with a long history of community-focused experience. “As a lifelong area resident, I’ve had an eye on the incredible things that Batavia MainStreet has accomplished going back a couple of decades,” stated Faber. “I’ve had the pleasure of knowing all of the previous directors, so I’m honored and super excited to be offered the opportunity to take the reins here. Things have really been soaring in the past few years, and my goal is to continue the great momentum that the current board and staff have built up.”

A hiring committee of community stakeholders, business owners, and Batavia MainStreet board members selected Faber after an extensive search. His first official day with Batavia MainStreet was on August 1st with a brief introduction by Saam at the organization’s annual fundraiser on July 21st, Cocktails in the Park.

“Cathy McNally and Jamie Saam are so talented, with Cathy shifting into her role as Director of Development and Special Events and Jamie staying on as a consultant, I think we have a really dynamic team that will complement each other’s abilities nicely,” commented Faber.

The vision of Batavia MainStreet is described as helping create a unique and vital downtown that enriches the business community, embraces history, celebrates the arts, preserves the natural environment and promotes events to instill a sense of place within the city.
