Fourth Time a Charm for Preschool Open House

Thu February 28, 2019

BATAVIA, IL – Between snow, ice and polar vortexes, Batavia has certainly been patient with Mother Nature as she postponed the annual New Horizons Preschool Open House a record three times this winter. With spring on the horizon, staff is excited for their preschool doors to formally open up to the public for exploration. Today’s parents are faced with a number of options when it comes to preschool for their child, and choosing the right fit can be difficult.

The New Horizons Preschool will open its doors to prospective parents on Thursday, March 14 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. to allow families the opportunity to meet teachers, explore classrooms and learn more about the play-based program. Children are also welcome to attend!

New Horizons Preschool is a proud program of the Batavia Park District and located at 14 N. Van Buren Street. It is designed to provide an opportunity for social and emotional growth as well as a beginning adjustment to a more formal school experience. The program is based on the philosophy that children learn more through play. Play provides opportunities for children of all abilities to participate in common activities. This is paramount in the foundation of self-esteem and self-confidence.

A knowledgeable staff works together to provide a safe and happy environment. Children are encouraged to think independently, be creative and freely explore in a structured atmosphere.

The New Horizons school year runs from the day after Labor Day in September to the Friday before Memorial Day in May. Registration is open to both residents and non-residents at this time.
