National Bike Month kicks off Parks Challenge

Fri May 3, 2019

BATAVIA, IL – 2019 marks the 50th Anniversary for the Batavia Park District since the 1969 inception. In honor of the milestone, staff are inviting the public to get outside and participate in a new “Explore Your Parks Challenge” worksheet May through July. Whether you walk, bike, or drive to the park locations, it’s a great way to get to know your park system better this summer.

Participants are asked to visit 13 of the 40 park sites in the District and encouraged to enjoy amenities such as climbing the Space Net at Engstrom Park, reading a book under Fidler’s Oak, building a sandcastle at Hall Quarry Beach and much more.  Families can share their adventures with the Park District by using the #explorebataviaparks hashtag on social media and filling out the parks challenge worksheet. All participants who submit a completed worksheet will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win $300 to All Spoked Up in Batavia.

Challenge worksheets are due by Wednesday, July 31 by 4:00 pm at the Civic Center, located at 327 W. Wilson Street. The winner will be announced at the July 31 River Rhapsody Concert in the Park at 7:00 pm. You do not need to be present to win and only one worksheet per person may be submitted.
