While this is certainly a different summer, the Batavia Park District is still offering a variety of safe, special events for the whole family. Step out of your normal routine and join us at an upcoming event! Please note that most special events require pre-registration as capacity is limited.
Wednesday, July 29 at the Batavia Depot Museum, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm (various time slots)
Families, grab your artifact brushes and get ready to make some discoveries. Learn about archaeology and Batavia history, then practice what you’ve learned by ‘digging’ up artifacts and making your own museum display. Space is limited to one family (maximum of 5 people per family) per half hour. Please register one family member to reserve your spot. Register here.
Wednesday, July 29 & Wednesday, August 5 at West Main Community Park, 8:30 pm
Bring the kids, blankets, and pillows and enjoy an evening under the stars watching great family movies together. Each movie will begin at 8:30 pm. Cars can begin entering West Main Community Park at 7:45 pm. Cost is $20 per car, and pre-registration is required as space is limited. The cars will even be social distancing! Each vehicle will also need to bring a personal radio or download a radio app on their phone to listen to the movie. Register here.

Cool down at the Splash Bash with your friends! Kids will enjoy inflatable animal sprinklers and water activities in this safe, socially distanced event. All kids will need to be registered, and parents must stay with their children. Come prepared with your own sunscreen, water bottles, towels, and chairs. No restrooms will be available. Pre-register for $5 per child by July 29 or pay the day-of for $6 (credit card only, if space permits). Rain date is July 31. Register here.
Saturday, August 29 at Peg Bond Center, 1:00-4:00 pm
Get your team together for the 2nd annual Batavia Road Rally – Walking Edition! Compete against other teams through a series of hints, clues, and activities through Batavia. This event will test your communication and teamwork skills, great for families, neighbors, co-workers, and friends! There will be a Team Spirit award, along with prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams. The event fee is per team, and teams can consist of up to 4 people. Children under 14 need to be accompanied by an adult. This is a rain or shine event. Check-in begins at 12:30 pm. Participants can expect to walk approximately 3 miles. Kayak rentals continue through early September! Whether you want to try out kayaking for the first time, enjoy some leisurely time on the water, or get a workout in, kayak rentals are a great option at the Batavia Riverwalk. The cost is $10 for a 30 minute rental (credit card only please). A tandem kayak is also available for $20. Kayak rentals are open Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 5:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday and Thursday from 12:00-2:00 pm and 5:00-8:00 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 1:00-6:00 pm. Learn more here.
