The Batavia Park District has teamed up with residents as well as the Batavia Police Department in an effort to effectively reduce crime and make parks a better and safer place to play! The Park Watch Program is a neighborhood awareness program and encourages neighbors to be aware of what is happening in our parks.
Acts of vandalism and suspicious activities in the parks create an unhealthy environment and impacts us all. Vandalism is costly to repair and uses park district resources that could otherwise be used to improve, expand or enhance the parks. These types of activities, whether acts of arson, graffiti or destruction of property, create a poor image of our neighborhoods and can reduce property values. Vandalism can also make park equipment unusable to patrons.
In order to deter this type of negative activity, we are asking residents to take pride in their parks by reporting suspicious activity anonymously by calling the "Bruce the Spruce" Hotline at 630-879-5235 ext. SAFE (7233). You can also email bruce@bataviaparks.org. Personal information will be kept confidential.
We truly appreciate your help in protecting your investment in your Batavia Park System!
