Get social with area seniors! This exciting group of fun and active seniors meets the third Wednesday of each month. Meetings include general business, an entertaining and informative program, and a refreshment/social period.

New members are welcome any time. Dues are $10 per year. Attend the meeting during your birthday month and receive a $2 birthday coupon, which may be applied toward any park district activity or trip, with the exception of dues.

Meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month at noon at the Eastside Community Center, 14 N. Van Buren St.

The Batavia Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is staffed with friendly volunteers Monday through Friday from 9:30 to 11:30 am. The office is located on the main level of the Batavia Park District Civic Center.

RSVP is an intergenerational volunteer program that serves Batavians by identifying the needs of individuals within the community and then coordinating a volunteer response to those needs. Currently more than 100 individuals serve as volunteers to help improve the quality of life for Batavia seniors 65 and older.

Services include:

  • Providing transportation to homebound seniors for doctor visits and other essential trips.
  • Assisting seniors in applying for property tax relief programs.
  • Performing an informational and referral service for seniors to help them with questions about services and programs available to them.
  • Installing and maintaining smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in senior's homes at no cost.
  • Helping eligible seniors with prescription drug costs.
  • Installation of lock boxes on seniors' homes at no cost.
