Batavia Park District's Camp SUN-sational is summertime fun that your children do not want to miss. Activities include games, craft activities, theme days, local field trips, in-house entertainment, and swimming.
All participants are required to wear closed-toed shoes (no sandals) and bring a sack lunch and water bottle each day. Field trips are included in the fee. No refunds will be used for this program. The Batavia Park District is dedicated to providing a safe and fun summer camp experience.

Our program features thrilling weekly field trips, imaginative crafts, energetic games, and refreshing swims at the Hall Quarry Beach. Our wetland habitats are filled with animals that love to Splish and splash about! Be dressed to get a little wet as we explore how much fun they have in the water. Our Sprout series is a wonderful way to encourage your tiny camper to explore nature with you! Fun activities will have you and your child outside explore, creating simple crafts and listening to stories all based on that weeks theme. Adults must accompany their child but do not need to register.
There are some crafty construction builders out in our woods! Learn how a beaver builds their home, how a squirrels nest is constructed and take a close look at the intricate honeycomb of the honeybees, then see if you can recreate these same designs- if you build it, will they come? Campers should bring a refillable water bottle to camp each day. This camp series is great for your preschooler to help reinforce concepts they may have started learning while challenging them with fun and engaging topics. The day will be packed with plenty of outside time for your campers, including hiking, games, hands-on exploration and more all based on that weeks theme. All campers are required to bring a refillable water bottle. There is no snack break during these camps.
This camp is the perfect way for your youngsters to get that camp experience but may not be ready for that full day of fun at Red Oak. Each week of camp has its own theme filled with outdoor games, exploration, hiking, crafts, stories and more! All campers are required to bring a healthy and energizing snack and refillable water bottle. Please sign your camper up for one session, either AM or PM
Come spend a late summer afternoon at Red Oak letting nature inspire your creations! Campers will use different forms of media that may include clay, dye, paint, mud, fabric and other natural materials. Some art will be taken home while others will be left to decorate our Art Nook hidden in the woods. Campers should be dressed in clothes that can get redesigned.
Get ready, get set, get wet!! Campers should be dressed each day to get wet and muddy as we will be investigating our local waterways to see who and what lives in them! Games, crafts, and actives will keep us busy as we learn about the connections between freshwater fish and saltwater relatives. All campers should bring two energizing snacks, lunch and refillable water bottle in a backpack all labeled with their name each day to camp. Spend your summer in nature at Red Oaks Adventure Camp! Each week features a different theme that will get and keep your camper outside exploring the world around them. Well hike, play games, make crafts, use tools and have fun. Campers who sign up for all 5 weeks receive a free Red Oak Camp T-shirt. For those signing up for all 5 weeks, a $250 security deposit is due at the time of registration with the balance being charged on June 15. Full-session fee includes a discount on the weekly camp fees. Space is limited.
With Red Oak as our home base campers will explore the habitats during that magical hour when the sunsets and the moon rises! Who comes out to visit, what sounds will be heard? We will explore through hiking, telling campfire stories, looking at the constellations and maybe roasting a marshmallow or two. All registrants will receive one Red Oak flashlight to keep.
Head out in our mean green travelling machine to explore amazing areas in and around Illinois! Each day we will head out to a new destination to investigate and have fun. The week finishes with an overnight campout where campers will put up their tents, cook dinner, roast marshmallows and more! Previous years activities included hiking, creek walking, beach days, canoeing, cave exploration, dune hiking, museum visits and more! A more detailed schedule of activities will be sent out with camp forms. Our schedule is subject to change, but camp will meet regardless. Monday-Wednesday 9a-4:30p Thursday-Friday 9am-1:30pm Become a legend this summer and explore the outdoors in four styles of camp to discover what kind of champion you are! Two of these camps have overnight components. Please read the individual descriptions online for more details. Kids will measure, mix and cook every day, plus enjoy other activities based upon the story. Note that we will use dairy products as ingredients. Fee includes all supplies and an apron or hat for each child.

This camp is designed to keep everyone moving and learning at all times! Every part of the game will be covered and broken down into detail. Not only will players skills be advanced, but the importance of teamwork and a positive mental attitude will be stressed. Each day will consist of stretching and warm-ups, drills and skills, a strategy session, and games. A basketball is provided.
Be prepared for the upcoming soccer season! Boys and girls will build confidence and self-esteem as the coaches enhance everyones play, whether they are just beginners or have played on travel teams. Each day consists of stretching and warm-ups, drills and skills, fun competitions, and a strategy session leading up to a game. Please bring your own soccer ball and wear shin guards.
Extend the baseball season with this camp! All Little Leaguers are welcome, whether theyre just beginning or already superstars. Instructors will pass on knowledge and skills helpful for play at all levels. The camp is designed to equip ball players with the proper attitude, mechanics, and know-how of the game to ensure confidence in their future baseball endeavors. Please bring a baseball glove.
This softball camp is designed to teach girls the basic softball fundamentals and the know-how of the game to move to the next level with confidence. All aspects of the game will be covered, including pitching techniques, hitting, bunting, base running, infield, outfield, and catching. Both offense and defense strategies will be taught through games and individual instruction. Please bring a softball glove.
This camp is for the all-around athlete or for someone who wants to try all the sports. The main focal point of this camp is teamwork and sportsmanship as sports like soccer, basketball, hockey, football, and baseball are covered. This camp is not about winning or losing; its about having fun and learning. All equipment is provided.
Develop your child's intellect through the royal game of chess! This is perfect for beginners as well as experienced players. Camp will consist of a fun interactive teaching period, followed by guided practice time allowing the students to play against one another while being coached by an experienced instructor. Does your child love Minecraft? Imagine if children learn Civil Engineering and City Planning while they are in a Minecraft world. Students work as civil engineers and city planners to design and create a structured city that includes roads, bridges, and city zones containing housing, stores, libraries, schools and more. Minecraft Java Edition is used in the classroom as the tool for hands-on learning. The camp ends with a presentation of the students city. We inspire future Engineers using Minecraft. The Junior Lifeguard Camp is an introductory camp which will allow participants to learn basic safety skills, practice aquatic rescues and participate in interactive drills. Participants will learn the importance of safety, leadership skills, teamwork and professionalism. Certified Quarry lifeguards and managers will be instructing this course. A Jr. Lifeguard Camp T-Shirt is included with the cost of admission. Prerequisite: Be able to swim continuously 50 yards. Class attire: Swim trunks, athletic bikinis or one piece only. NOTE: THIS CAMP DOES NOT CERTIFY PARTICIPANTS FOR PROFESSIONAL LIFEGUARDING.
LEGO Robotics, Engineering, and Coding all in one camp! Each day students will work on a STEM activity, including building and programming with LEGO robotics, building LEGO mechanical engineering projects, and programming animations and games on computers with MITs Scratch. Enjoy a week of action packed football in a fun and safe environment, designed to teach everyone. This is a great chance for children to learn the game without pads and helmets. There is no tackling allowed! We will cover positioning, catching, throwing, patterns, footwork, and offensive and defensive strategies to keep everyone thinking and moving. Please bring knee and elbow pads.
Learn about robotics by designing and programming robots to compete in a SumoBot competition. Kids will learn the physics and concepts of robots through building and programing... controlling motors, reading sensors... that lead to a competition at the end of the camp. An understanding of the engineering process combined with fun competition will provide students a great way to get started in robotics. Never played lacrosse before, but want to learn? Currently play and want an opportunity to work on your own game? Come join us this summer for our 3 day week camp. We will introduce you to the fastest sport on two feet! Our beginner-intermediate camp series allows boys and girls to learn the fundamentals of lacrosse in a fast-paced, fun, and educational environment. By the end of these sessions, players will love the game of lacrosse!
Introduce your child to the amazing plants and animals of springtime. Well explore the woodland, soil, and prairie through hands-on activities, play, stories, or sing songs, in addition to a simple craft. Dress for being outside and possibly getting messy as this class is primarily outdoors.
Join us for a fun and engaging youth pickleball camp, perfect for kids looking to learn or improve their skills in this fast-growing sport! Our experienced instructors will guide players through the fundamentals, including proper grip, serving, volleys, dinking, and game strategy. Campers will patriciate in drills, skill-building exercises, and friendly matches to develop their game. This camp is idea for beginners and intermediate players who want to enjoy an active, social, and exciting experience on the court. Each player should bring water and athletic clothes/shoes. Paddles will be provided.
Join us for a great summer theatre experience packed into 2 weeks of fun! Through theatre games and activities, participants will enjoy the basics of acting to help boost confidence for the stage. Songs and scenes from favorite musicals and movies will help children explore signing, dance, and acting. Camps culminate to a showcase on the final day for a full theatre experience! This camp will focus on all things pop music. Actors will sing and dance as if they are starring in their own music videos to their favorite pop songs. Songs may include selection from artists such as Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, and more!
Learn how to ride up and down ramps, how to flow through a skatepark, and the basics of an ollie and dropping in. Campers will learn skatepark etiquette, how to take care of equipment, how to progress safely, and much more! Recommended ages 6 & up, ALL experience levels are welcome to join the fun. Small group instruction will be based on experience. Get ready for some wet and sandy fun! Create a palm tree sculpture; imagine a beach scene and make a beach towel pattern. Design your own sun visor, move to the party music and create some incredible underwater art!
