If you haven't had a chance to tour the Callahan Community Center, be sure to stop by on Saturday or Sunday during Windmill City Festival. The building will be open for activities, and you can also come in and check it out.

On Saturday, check out the Fine Art Fest from noon to 8 p.m. and an art activity for all ages from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

On Sunday, stop by the Callahan for a dance fitness demonstration at noon and family activities for kids ages 11 and younger from 1 to 3 p.m.

Get set for the first night of Windmill City Festival tomorrow night!

The festival opens at 5 p.m. Check out the Golf Challenge, carnival and delicious food and drink in the food court and beer garden.

Kashmir takes the stage at 6 p.m. to rock out to the best of Led Zeppelin. Sixteen Candles follows at 9 p.m. with an unforgettable set list of 1980s classics.

Need a rest from the fest? Visit the SootheSpace provided by Fox Valley Special Recreation Association. This is a safe sensory space for those who need a quiet place to rest for a moment. The SootheSpace is located behind the Peg Bond Center adjacent to the playground.

Show off your amazing pet at the Windmill City Festival Pet Competition! 🐾

Bring your furry (or not-so-furry!) friend to the Main Stage on Saturday, July 11, for an afternoon of fun, laughs, and prizes!

• The contest starts at 2 p.m.
• Free registration begins at 1:45 p.m. near the Main Stage.
• The first 50 pets to register will receive a doggie bag of goodies!

Compete in one of five fun categories:
• Best Kisser
• Best Trick
• Highest Jump
• Best Costume
• Most Unusual

Dogs, cats, birds, small mammals, and reptiles are all welcome. Come cheer on your favorites and see who takes home the prizes!

Make your plans for Windmill City Festival!

Enjoy live music, great food, family-friendly activities, and a weekend full of fun.

Before you go, please note:
• The ONLY entrance to the festival is at the corner of Island and Houston. The exit gate by the Batavia Depot Museum is not a festival entrance. Patrons will be asked to walk along the festival fencing to the entrance.
• Security is checking all bags, purses, and strollers at the festival entrance.
• Coolers are permitted. They will be checked by security at the entrance.
• No outside alcohol is allowed.
• The Batavia Police Department will use a drone during the event to enhance public safety.
• Dogs are welcome until 6 p.m.
• No smoking or vaping on festival grounds.

The Batavia Bobcats are holding tryouts on July 13 at Memorial Park for players who will be 11 years old before Aug. 31.

Pitcher/catcher tryouts are from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Position player tryouts are from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

Registration is now open for Energy City Soccer leagues. Sign up for the 3-4, 5-6 or 7-8 league. Kids learn soccer skills, fundamentals and the importance of teamwork.

Soccer leagues also help kids with discipline and focus, self-confidence and motor skills and coordination.
