At the June 16 Batavia Park Board meeting, State Representative Matt Hanson presented Allison with a copy of House Resolution 594, officially recognizing July 11 as Unplug Illinois Day.
Allison was honored for her leadership in co-creating the Unplug Illinois campaign, an Illinois Park and Recreation Association strategic master plan initiative that has grown into a statewide celebration encouraging people to “plug into” the many opportunities available through local park and recreation agencies.
"Unplug Illinois was built on a simple idea, that some of life's best moments aren't found on a screen,” she said. "It's rewarding to see a campaign that began as an idea grow into a statewide movement recognized by the Illinois General Assembly."

Head down to Batavia Riverwalk for a children's concert at 5 p.m., followed by Chicago Rockhouse at 7 p.m. 🎸 Get ready to sing along, dance and enjoy all the classic rock favorites you know and love.
Grab dinner and drinks from on-site vendors, or pack your own picnic. Don’t forget your lawn chairs or blankets and settle in for a relaxing summer night of great music, good food and even better company.

Young athletes will learn the basics of cheer in this 45-minute program focusing on facial expressions, arm movement, vocals, jumping, flexibility, tumbling and poms. A pep assembly will be held the last day of class. Cheer participants should wear athletic attire and lace-up tennis shoes.
