Softball
Girls learn the basics of softball and grow their skills with team play in our seasonal softball leagues for ages 5-14. Our new travel softball team offers opportunity to play year-round, and summer camps help build skills.
Registration Info
Softball leagues 6U-14U
- Leagues run in spring and fall
- Registration deadline is early March for spring leagues and early July for fall leagues
- Volunteer coaches are needed. Contact nathanielj@bataviaparks.org to volunteer
Girls Softball 6U
- For ages 5-6
- Teams practice for a half-hour and play their game immediately afterward
- The league uses a tee similar to a traditional tee-ball
Girls Softball 8U-14U
- For ages 7-14
- This league will require light travel to surrounding towns for some games
- The 10U, 12U and 14U seasons conclude with a single game elimination playoff
- Practice days, times, and location will be determined by your coach and field availability
Travel Softball Team
- Travel team options available
- Teams train during offseason/Winter season
- League and tournament play during Spring/Summer seasons
- Regional (northern Illinois area) travel for games and tournaments
Softball Camp
- For ages 7-12
- Covers softball fundamentals
- Includes pitching techniques, hitting, bunting, base running and catching
- Offense and defense will be taught through games and instruction

Planning for softball
Uniforms
6U players receive a uniform top. 8U-14U players receive a jersey and pants. Provide sizes at registration.
Equipment
6U-14U players must wear athletic shoes and bring their own glove. Helmets for 8U-14U players are available for $23.
Registration
Provide uniform sizes and the name of your child’s school at registration.
Coaches
Volunteer coaches are needed. Contact nathanielj@bataviaparks.org to volunteer.
