About Civic Center
The Park District’s Civic Center is situated in the downtown Batavia and is an ideal space to host an event. It boasts two rooms available for rental: The Jim Eby Gymnasium and the multipurpose Bartholomew Room. Rentals include use of restrooms, ample parking and onsite staff to assist with questions. A kitchenette and tables and chairs are included with the Bartholomew Room rental.

Renters will have access to separate men's and women's rooms plus a private accessible restroom.

Accessible entrances
The Civic Center has an accessible entrance that is ground level with no stairs.
Rent the multipurpose room or gym
Rentals are charged by the hour. Staff will be onsite to answer questions or assist during rentals. Please include set-up and tear-down time in the hours of your rental. Renters who rent the gym get 50% off the Bartholomew Room rental rate.
The damage deposit will be returned if there is no damage to Park District property.

What are the room dimensions?
The room is 41 x 32 feet.
What is the room capacity?
The room can hold up to 50 people for a party of event.
What is included with the rental?
The rental includes tables and chairs: eight 8-foot rectangle tables, five round tables and 50 folding chairs plus access to restrooms, on-site staff and projector screen.
Can we serve alcohol?
Yes. When filling out the rental agreement, renter must specify that alcohol will be served and request Dram Shop instructions and a special use permit. Cost of Dram Shop insurance will be $70-$250 depending on the size and type of event. If serving alcohol, renters must be age 21 or older and pay an additional refundable damage deposit of $500.
Can we have decorations, candles and balloons?
Decorations are allowed, but tape is not permitted. Candles must have holder that is taller than the flame. Only air-filled balloons are allowed. Helium balloons are not allowed.
Does the facility have wi-fi?
Yes.
Can we have an indoor bouncy house at our party?
No.
Can we charge admission to our event?
No.
Is a projector available?
No.
Jim Eby Gymnasium FAQ
Can we use Park District equipment during our rental?
No. Renters must bring their own equipment.
Can we serve food and alcohol in the gym?
No. Food and alcohol are not allowed with this rental.

Can we have a bouncy house at our event?
A bouncy house for the gym requires special approval. Renter must request a special use permit and submit it with the rental application. A certificate of insurance from the bouncy house company with the Batavia Park District listed as additional insured would also be needed.
