snowman building contest

January through February 29


Have some frosty fun outdoors! In January or February, visit one of your favorite Batavia parks or build a snowman or snow creature in your own yard. Once your snow creation is complete, snap a picture of it with those who crafted it and send your photos to, along with your name, age, address and a title for your snow creation. Photos are due by 4:00 p.m. on February 29. Voting for the People's Choice category will be begin on Facebook March 1 and will close at noon on March 8. Winners will be announced later that day!

The contest categories are:

* People's Choice (traditional snowperson)

* Most creatively Accessorized

* Best Snow Creature

* One entry per family, please

* All snow creations must be respectful, free standing and made of snow

What will you win? Ultimate bragging rights and the opportunity to be featured with your winning snow creation on our website and Facebook page!

Tween flashlight egg hunt

Friday, March 22 (Ages 9-12) 6-7 p.m.

Enjoy a glowtastic time at a special Easter egg hunt at Prairie Path Park! Grab your flashlight and join us for an awesome egg hunt. Tweens will receive a glow stick, and if you find the golden egg you will receive a special prize. Please remember to bring your own flashlight and bag to collect eggs. Preregister for this event as space is limited. Fee is $15 per child.

Wednesday, March 27 (All ages) 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Enjoy an Easter surprise from the comfort of your home! One of our friendly Characters will hide eggs, filled with small treats and candy, in your front yard. You might catch him/her in action or be surprised when you get home, either way, you don't want to miss out on this fun treat! Please register only one family member per household. The Easter treats will be delivered on Wednesday, March 27, between 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The fee is $35 per house; only available to Batavia Park District residents.

Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday, March 23 (Ages 2-8) 10 a.m.

All little bunnies are invited to hop on over for the annual Easter Egg Hunt! Be sure to see the Easter Bunny and bring a basket to hold all the goodies you find. The hunt will begin at 10 a.m. This event takes place outside at West Main Community Park and is free.


Monday, March 25 (Ages 18+)

Beginners play at 2 p.m.
Advanced players begin at 4:30 p.m.

The cost is $20 per player

Ready to dink, bang and smash?

Take to the court against local players during this multibracket indoor pickleball tournament during spring break on Monday, March 25 at the Batavia Civic Center. Each team is guaranteed six games. Players register as individuals. Please indicate partner choice when registering. No partner? Don't worry. Register as a single and the District will partner registrations.
