A Craft Beer Festival

Cheers! Our new craft beer festival is finally here! If you love sampling good beer, gather your friends and come to our outdoor craft beer festival, Pints by the Pond. Along with tasty food trucks and local musical entertainment, you'll be able to taste test unique beers from more than a dozen local breweries.

Tickets will be sold for three hours of beer tastings. Tickets include entry to the fest, plus 20 3-oz samples from attending breweries, and a commemorative beer glass. VIP tickets include 1-hour early entry and will be sold only while supplies last. A Designated Driver ticket includes entry and unlimited water/soda.

Attendees and ticket purchasers must be 21 years or older and present a valid, state-issued ID card at the time of check-in. Children are not permitted. Last call is at 4:30 pm and the last pour is at 4:45 pm. No pets allowed. Rain location: Batavia Civic Center, 327 W. Wilson Street.

MOM AND SON WAGON RIDES

Thursday, September 22 and September 29, 6:00-7:30 pm, West Main Community Park

Enjoy a special night with your son (ages 3 to 10) at West Main Community Park. Wagon rides and dinner will be provided. Participate in pumpkin decorating and enjoy campfire s'mores for dessert. Wagons will begin at 6:00 pm from the parking lot. Preregistration is required. Price is $12 per person. Be sure to register early for this popular event!

FALL DRIVE-IN MOVIE

Thursday, October 6, 7:00-9:00 pm, West Main Community Park

Snuggle up to a fall movie outdoors with your family! Bring the kids, blankets and pillows and enjoy an evening under the stars watching "The Addams Family" (2019 animated) movie. The movie will begin at 7:00 pm and cars may enter at 6:30 pm at West Main Community Park. The cost is $20 per car. Movie-goers in each vehicle will need to bring a personal radio or download a radio app on their phone to listen to the movie.

A Nightmare at West Main

Friday, October 14 and October 21, 7:00-9:00 pm, West Main Community Park

The ghosts are coming out to play in the forest at West Main Community Park. Join us for a haunted hike through our spooky trails. Ghoulish fun awaits. Enter if you dare! This event is not suitable for children younger than 10 years old. Advanced tickets may be purchased for $10 each through October 13. Day of event admission is $12. Each person must be registered.

Halloween House Decorating Contest

Wednesday, October 19, 6:00-9:00 pm

Show us your frightfully good home decorating skills in our popular Halloween House Decorating contest! Spots are limited, so be sure to register early! All home displays will be judged on Wednesday, October 19, after sunset and between 6-9 pm. We will award prizes for best overall theme and People's Choice. Winners will receive a Batavia Park District prize package.


Every household entered will be responsible for sending 3-5 photos of your display to be used for the People's Choice award category. Email your photos (and include your home's address) by 5 p.m. on October 14 to Debbie Gentry at debbieg@bataviaparks.org. No late entries will be accepted.

Celebration of Lights Festival

Experience the magic of Batavia with your family and friends! Stroll Christmas Tree Lane, featuring 25 holiday trees decorated by local organizations and businesses, and enjoy all the festive bright lights and sounds of the holiday season. Festival activities include the Mayor's tree lighting ceremony, free hayrides with a food donation to the Batavia Food Pantry, a community sing-a-long, a performance by The Batavia Community Band, a story hour, holiday craft activities and a family photo opportunity with Santa! The Depot Museum also will be hosting a special exhibit celebrating Batavians' holiday traditions.

Breakfast with Santa

Saturday, December 10, 8:30-10:00 am, Shannon Hall

Ho! Ho! Ho! Here comes Santa Claus! He and Mrs. Claus have come a long way to share breakfast with you and your family! Families may visit with Santa and take a photo with him and Mrs. Claus. Santa will talk to each child and then hand him or her a present. Enjoy a light breakfast of doughnuts, fruit, yogurt, coffee, juice and milk. Your child will take home a photo with Santa and a fun craft that awaits you at your table. Please register each person attending. The cost is $13 per person or $45 per family of 4.

online Holiday House DECORATING CONTEST

Show off your holiday spirit and enter Batavia's Holiday House Decorating Contest. We will award prizes in four categories: Most Original, Best Theme, Best Use of Lights and People's Choice. All displays will be judged through online voting via our Facebook page on Wednesday, December 14. Winners will receive a Batavia Park District prize package.


Please submit all photos to bethanneg@bataviaparks.org. Photos must be submitted by 4:00 pm on Monday, December 12. No late entries will be accepted. Winners will be announced on Friday, December 16.
